Gender/Race inclusivity (Campaign)
The player controls 3 characters throughout the campaign of MW2019: Garrick, Alex and Farah. Garrick and Alex are male but subordinates to higher ranking characters, while Farah is female and is the highest ranking member of a liberation front. Garrick and Farah are both POC while Alex is white, but the latter knows and speaks fluent Arabic.
Gender/Race inclusivity (Multiplayer)
The player has the option of picking between 27 male and 8 female operators, 16 of which are POC (discounting Velikan, as he wears full body armour and cannot be racially identified)
Mental/Physical inclusivity (Overall)
As Garrick, Farah and Alex are playable in multiplayer, they will be judged alongside the rest of the cast, that being said there bios do not indicate any mental differences, thus allowing either for scrutiny or for you to paint your preferences onto each character. Of the physical inclusivity, the only two things that potentially apply are Price’s lungs, as he’s an aficionado of cigars, or Nikto’s face, as he was horribly disfigured when captured by terrorists
Accessibility
Features mouse sensitivity settings for regular looking and ADS, with inversion, acceleration, filtering and smoothing options also available / various actions such as crouch, prone and sprint can be switched between toggle or hold-down / features toggleable subtitles (menu inaccessible during multiplayer for some reason) / the ability to play with bots if one doesn’t want to interact with other players (most recommended in short bursts, as it can get monotonous)
Additional Notes
- With exception to the playable Russian characters (sans Minotaur), every other Russian soldier is depicted negatively, even if they aren’t Russians lead under the character General Barkov
- Contains water boarding sequence where the player must avoid being drowned
- Contains civilian deaths, with one civilian demanding to see his daughters before being blown to smithereens with a bomb vest and another civilian with their son when a suicide bomber arms his detonator before the camera cuts
- Minotaur, with his identity cleverly hidden by a gas mask (only for it to be given away by his striped tank top), attempts to kill Farah and her brother while they’re children in a morbid game of Hide and Seek, after murdering their father in front of them
- There is a sequence that can be opted out of where Garrick has to torture a man for information while his (not Garrick’s) wife and son watch from the sidelines
- Krueger’s intro animation has him slitting his palm
- It is implied that Iskra’s mother was raped by an occupying Russian soldier
- It is possible to blow enemies to giblets with an anti-material rifle or burn them alive with Dragons’ Breath shotgun ammo
- There are customization packs for SAW and Texas Chainsaw Massacre that allow you to play as Billy and Leather Face respectively
- The game punishes you for killing civilians, performing friendly fire or breaking the rules of engagement (I.e. do not fire unless fired upon)
- It is possible to accidentally kill a mother during a midnight house raid, forcing one of your NPC team mates to put her baby in their crib before berating you for bad trigger discipline
- Features realistic gunfire and explosion sound effects
